the Stalking Distance Biography The story of The Stalking Distance starts with the ending of one band to form another that has power, progression, and melody combined with a “no nonsense” rock & roll attitude. The band was formed in late 2007 by three surviving members of another Sacramento local-Victorian. Together, Jose Montenegro (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Daryl Ashley (Bass, Backup Vocals), and Eli Callnon (Drums) sought out the last piece of the puzzle.Lead guitarist, Mark Payne. With all the pieces in place, the band picked up a new name, attitude, and sound. The name is more of a way of life for these four. Non-stop "stalking"of cities and venues to gain recognition.Touring,performing and gaining fans one by one or by the masses. Recruiting stalkers where ever they go. The Sound, is a melding of Heavy Metal, down ‘n dirty Rock & Roll, Punk-rock, and Alternative-rock.These elements combined with attitude,gives them a sound very unlike any other in the Northern California scene.This is the Stalking Distance Having many shows already under their belt, the band hit the studio and has finished recording their first demo EP, entitled DEADICATION. Four of the most high energy rock songs that you’ll hear, and with Producer Eric Broyhill (of Deftones & Cake notariety) noted, “I love the Iron Maiden harmonizing guitars and raw feel of it,” he was able to expand their sound and produce an album that will most certainly rival the local scene. Going head first into the Northern California music scene can be tough when you have a new and original sound to bring to people, but with relentless touring and a ever-growing fan base they have made their sound known, and made it known that there will be no going down easy.
